Clarks Pram Shoes Review

The recently launched Clarks Pram Shoes are the first product that Honest Mums have been sent to review by the supplier. We gave them to user Hobnob to review, as they were perfect for her little girl. This Honest Mums review is based on her comments and experiences.

Introduction

The Clarks Pram Shoes website has this to say about the shoes...

Made from blissfully soft, premium quality materials, Clarks Pram shoes will wrap feet in tender loving care but still leave enough wriggle room so tiny toes can do what comes naturally. Inspired by our years of experience - nobody knows more about caring for children’s feet than Clarks.

The concept of the shoes is that, for infants, barefoot is best. The shoes are designed to gently protect and care for a baby's feet when out and about - hence the name 'Pram Shoes'. Three sizes are available; birth to 3 months, 3 months to 6 months and 6 month to 9 months. By 9 months most babies will have started to crawl and therefore will have different needs from their footwear.

Design

As you can see from the picture above, the shoes are really cute. This is the Baby Pink Leather design, 3 other designs are available; a cotton coloured design that would suit little girls, and denim blue and chocolate brown designs that are for little boys.

Not only are the shoes themselves really cute, they also come in a really well designed box - ideal for giving the shoes as a present. If you take your little one to the Clarks store to be fitted for their first shoes you will also be given a personalised card, complete with a picture of your little one wearing their new shoes, as a keepsake. It's the little touches like this that make these shoes a great product.

We think the shoes are fab! They look funky, made of the softest leather, we've had compliments everywhere we go, people think they're cute looking and stylish.

Fit and Function

The Clarks Pram Shoes have been designed to be practical as well as attractive, so they have no interior seams to prevent little feet from getting rubbed, a specially designed heel that cradles the foor without causing pressure and a clever elasticated toggle fastening to ensure a good fit, and to prevent them from falling off in the supermarket!

We found that the shoes would have no problem fitting a 7 month old, though this is obviously entirely dependent on the size of your child!

Hobnob says...

They're easy to put on and stay put very well, they've only come off a handful of times and its usually because I've not pulled them on enough. M doesn't seem bothered by them at all so they must be comfy for her.

Hobnob has a friend who is a podiatrist, she asked her what she thought of the shoes...

They're good soft, supportive shoes for young growing feet, and I'd like a pair for my little boy now!



Mmmm...comfy!

Quality

Our test subject has been wearing the shoes almost every day for the last 6 weeks. Her mum has this to say about the quality of the shoes...

I'd say that they are very hardwearing, we wear them most days and they still look as good as new, I could save them for another baby I reckon!

Value for Money

OK, so the shoes are not cheap - but what is these days? Given that you're buying a branded item of excellent quality that is highly likely to outlast the 3 months for which it is designed to fit (and could therefore be handed down to your next child or even sold on!) they're pretty good value for money overall.

They're exceptionally well made, beautiful quality, you can tell they're well made from the moment you take them out of the box. They're hardly marked at all considering M's been wearing them constantly for the last 6 wks, they've been brilliant for keeping her feet warm when its chilly outside too.
